CHẤT LƯỢNG CUỘC SỐNG CỦA NGƯỜI BỆNH UNG THƯ ĐẠI TRỰC TRÀNG DƯỚI 50 TUỔI TẠI BỆNH VIỆN K
QUALITY OF LIFE AMONG COLORECTAL CANCER PATIENTS UNDER 50 YEARS OLD AT K HOSPITAL
Abstract
Objectives: To assess quality of life (QoL) and explore related factors among colorectal cancer (CRC) patients under 50 years old after treatment at K hospital.
Patients & Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 55 CRC patients under 50 years old who had completed treatment and were attending follow-up visits at K Hospital from April to July 2025. Participants completed QLQ-C30 and QLQ-CR29 questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SPSS software, with a statistical significance level set at p<0.05.
Results: The mean global health status score was 64.55 ± 8.37. Cognitive functioning had the highest score (96.06 ± 11.09), while emotional functioning had the lowest score (58.48 ± 17.38). Common post-treatment symptoms included insomnia, loss of appetite, and bowel and urinary dysfunction. Functional domain scores tended to be higher among older patients, males, and without a stoma. Conversely, symptom domain scores tended to be higher among females, low education levels, receipt neoadjuvant or adjuvant therapy, with a stoma, and underwent open surgery.
Conclusions: QoL of CRC patients under 50 years old after treatment was at a moderate level, with several notable symptoms. Therefore, post-treatment care should focus on comprehensive symptom management, enhanced functional rehabilitation, and regular psychological support.
